Stampy Wackers TOO Up!date August 2005

Working while vacationing in Beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada!  The girls are sound asleep after climbing the Grouse Grind today, 2.9km straight up the side of Grouse Mountain. The signs say "difficult, steep, for the physically fit".  They also say the average completion time for hiking up the  Grind is 1.5 hours.  We completed it in 2.5 hours, but complete it we did. Mackensie was the first one to the top!  Fortunately there is a Gondola ride down.  I could easily be sleeping too, but I didn't want to delay sending this message to you.  Our server for my website is currently down until we arrive back home later this week.  If any of the links in this message don't work, try again friday!

***  OPPORTUNITY NIGHT  ***
A great way to turn potential demonstrators into New Demonstrators is by hosting an Opportunity Night.  These events can help someone progress in the process of deciding whether the demonstrator opportunity is right for her. An event that is focused on sharing information, answering questions about demonstrating, and providing group support in this new business.  Find Opportunity Night information on the Stampin' Up! website.   If you are local to me, join me at the Opportunity Night I am hosting on Tuesday, August 23, 7pm.  Invite your recruit leads.  No need to create your Opportunity Night, there is power and excitement in a group!  If you are not local to me, host your own or join with other demonstrators in your area to create your own Opportunity Night.  Who to invite?  Anyone to whom you have ever given a recruit brochure, anyone who has ever asked about minimum sales requirements, any previous hostess, anyone who has purchased $100 or more in supplies, anyone you think would make a great demonstrator, anyone who you think could use an extra $300 per month.  As I create the invitation, presentation, and stamping projects for the Opportunity Night, I will post them on my webpage for you to CASE (copy and stamp everything!).

***  BUSINESS QUICK TIPS  ***
Some recruiting tips for you this month as Stampin' Up! has an awesome reward if you promote.  $100 free Stampin' Up! product of your choice if you promote to Supervisor or above before September 30.  Go for it!!!

Practice "open recruiting." Tell your story at every show. Keep it short and sweet, telling your guests a little bit about yourself and how you became involved with the company. Never prejudge your guests because you just never know who may be looking for an opportunity like yours. You wouldn't think of doing a show without showing your products and handing out catalogs and order forms; why would you do a show without "handing out" the opportunity?

Do you get at least one recruit lead per show? It's been said there are recruits at every show, but there's not always a recruiter there. So, always make sure the recruiter shows up, tells her story, plants her seeds to harvest later and hands out at least three information packets at every single show! Then follow up! Remember, brochures and literature don't recruit people; people recruit people! So reach out, smile, be friendly, ask questions and YOU initiate everything in the recruiting process!

This month's Stampin' Time is this Saturday, August 13, 10a-11a - Business Builders, 11a-1p - Shoebox projects.  Even if you are long distance, you can still participate by sending swaps.  Ask if you need more details.  Next month's Stampin' Time, September 17, 10a-1p.
