I went back through my credit card processing paperwork for almost a year to come up with this information.  I average a $73 order from people paying by credit card and I process an average of 15 credit cards per month.  Keep in mind, I average 7 workshops (and a few outside orders, usually paid by credit card) per month.  All orders last year (paid by cash, check, or credit card) averaged to $61.50 per order.  Therefore, it is true that people who order by credit card generally do place larger orders than average.  These larger orders more than offset the expense of offering credit card service.
